Obama's health care proposal is, in effect, the repeal of the Medicare program as we know it.

The elderly will go from being the group with the most access to free medical care to the one with the least access. Indeed, the principal impact of the Obama health care program will be to reduce sharply the 20 medical services the elderly can use. No longer will their every medical need be met, their every medication prescribed, their every need to improve their quality of life answered. It is so ironic that the elderly - who were so vigilant when Bush proposed to change Social Security - are so relaxed about the Obama health care proposals. Bush's Social Security plan, which did not cut their benefits at all, aroused the strongest opposition among the elderly.

But Obama's plan, which will totally gut Medicare and replace it with government-managed care and rationing, has elicited little more than a yawn from most senior citizens. It's time for the elderly to wake up before it is too late! In our new book, Catastrophe, we explain - in detail and in depth - the consequences the elderly of Canada are feeling from just this kind of program.

Limited colonoscopies have led to a 25% higher rate of colon cancer and a ban on the use of the two best chemotherapies are part of the reason why 42% of Canadians with colon cancer die while 31% of Americans, who have access to these two medications, survive the disease.

Overall, the death rate from cancer in Canada is 16% higher than in the United States and the heart disease mortality rate is 6% above ours'. Under Obama's program, there will be a government health insurance company that gets huge subsidies of tax money. It will compete with private insurance plans. But the subsidies will let it undercut the private plans and drive them out of business, leaving only the government plan - a single payer - in effect.

Today, 800,000 doctors struggle to treat adequately the 250 million Americans who have insurance. Obama will add 50 million more to their case load with no expansion in the number of doctors or nurses. Indeed, his plan will likely reduce their number by lowering reimbursement rates and imposing bureaucrats above them who will force medical decisions down their throats. Fewer doctors will have to treat more patients. The inevitable result will be rationing. And it is the elderly who rationing will most effect. Who should get a knee replacement a 40 year old or a 70 year old? Who should get a new hip, a young person or an old person? Who should have priority in the operating room a seventy year old diabetic who needs bypass surgery or a younger person? Obviously, it is the elderly who will get short shrift under his proposal.

But the interest groups that usually speak up for the elderly, particularly AARP, are in Obama's pocket, hoping to profit from his program by becoming one of its vendors! Just as they backed Bush's prescription drug plan because they anticipating profiting from it, so they are now helping Obama gut the medical care of their constituents. It is high time that the elderly of America realize what the stakes are in this vital fight to preserve Medicare as we know it and keep medical care open, accessible, and free to those over 65. It is truly a battle for their very lives.

The Axeman cometh to destroy freedom, not to preserve it. Barack Hussein Obama is a false, inexperienced leader and a usurper with an evil agenda and may be an illegitimate president as well. This man is a socialist, a communist and a Marxist. He is a hustler, a con man, a snake-oil salesman. This man is an apologist and an appeaser and bows to our enemies.

This man is not proud of America, he abhors it and he is seeking his own brand of reparations by tearing America down, at home and abroad.

BARRY OBAMA IS A LIAR, LIAR, PANTS ON FIRE!

This unstable, dangerous man has his finger on the trigger of nuclear Armageddon.

This man has convinced the ignorant and naïve among us that he is a savior, the Messiah, the One, a God, who can do no wrong. But in fact, this man is evil incarnate.

He intends to bury capitalism, the engine of our prosperity. He has and will continue to nationalize businesses and levy massive regulations on those he has not nationalized. He will bulldoze our property rights in the name of the cult known as radical environmentalism, brought to us by an organization infiltrated with despots, dictators, socialists and communists ..... the United Nations.

He will rob us of the energy needed for a growing economy and replace it with very costly, inefficient energy that produces but a fraction of what oil, coal, natural gas and nuclear energy can produce. As a result, prices of everything will rise.

He will significantly reduce jobs and productivity and send industry heading for more friendly shores.

He will pick winners and losers at his own whim, that is clearly not the job nor the purview of government in a free country.

He will engender, if not promote, mediocrity, decreasing productivity and low self esteem to make him look larger and more God like.

He will try to disarm a country that is free today because of the 2nd Amendment.

He will dismantle our health care system, make it more costly and ration health care for the elderly.

He will plunder the public treasury to buy votes and in the process dilute the value of our currency and lead us into the abyss of hyper inflation.

He will allow the rapid increase of our population by fostering illegal immigration and grant amnesty to those who would break our laws, flaunt our generosity and exploit our safety nets.

He will work tirelessly to increase his power by circumventing the constitutional limits on that power.

He will re-distribute the wealth of this once-great nation, according to his distorted image of equality for all.

He will dissolve the Judeo-Christian moral and spiritual glue that binds our culture together, by promoting his secular agenda and Muslim background.

He will increase abortion and the killing of our precious unborns, who have no voice and he will allow our public dollars to pay for national and international abortions.

He will erode American sovereignty by signing international treaties that will take away parents rights, gun rights and severely restrict our open sea rights and turn them over to a world body.

This man will rip the very fabric of our liberty. He will destroy the foundation of our freedom. And he will burn the constitution.

But worse, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Leader Harry Reid and their Democrat enablers, aid and abet this usurper's radical agenda, giving him even more power.

All these things Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the Democrats will do ….. that is, if free Americans let them.

Our freedom and liberty were and are a gift from our creator and a huge price has been and is now being paid to preserve, protect and defend that gift. It cannot be banished or dissolved by one man or a group of individuals who have forgotten that their power is granted to them by the Consent of the Governed and is significantly limited by the document from which our freedom was born, our constitution ..... a document to which most leaders and way too many Americans, have strayed.

Thomas Jefferson wrote appropriately in the Declaration of Independence, That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

The foundation of our liberty has been severely eroded over the last 100 years and it is way past time to reverse those erosions. We can alter our government and return it to the vision of our Founding Fathers, but it is going to take tens of millions of Americans who will commit to give their voices and their actions to and in support of those alterations .... if we wish to avoid a third American revolution.

The House health reform bill will outlaw private insurance coverage that is bought and sold in the open market. Instead, Congress wants to force all private insurance outside the place of work to be purchased in an "exchange" created and controlled by the government. Also, within the "exchange" insurance not approved by the government will be outlawed! So much for private plans! So much for our ability to choose!

What kind of care will you get from the health plan the government does approve? A new federal health board will decide whether your health care is "effective" or "appropriate." According to Tom Daschle, the idea is based on Britain's model which has determined that one year of life is worth only $44,000. The health board will consist of 17 bureaucrats appointed by the Secretary of HHS, whose job is to "enable clinicians, patients, consumers, and payers to make more informed health care decisions that improve quality and value." I don't need the government to "enable" me to make decisions that improve quality and value for me. Do you?

BUENOS AIRES (AFP) – Argentina issued a nationwide alert on Friday after pigs in the country were confirmed to have the swine flu virus, health authorities said.
"We have detected clinical cases of the A(H1N1) influenza in a pig farm in Buenos Aires province, they have been confirmed by laboratory tests," the national farm and food standards agency Senasa, said.

Thousands of people have contracted the virus in Argentina and 137 people in the country have died.

Senasa said the outbreak announced on Friday was the second time the disease had been found in pigs in Argentina -- the first case of infection in pigs was detected in June in the same Argentine province.

Earlier, the World Health Organisation said it would stop providing regular updates on the number of people affected worldwide, as the virus continues its march.

The WHO said in an information note on its website Friday that it would focus on regular updates from newly-affected countries, in order to keep track of the global progress of the A(H1N1) virus.

The influenza pandemic has "spread internationally with unprecedented speed," according to the Geneva-based UN public health agency.

In the last official figures it provided on July 6, the health agency recorded 94,512 cases in 136 countries and territories since April, including 429 deaths.

FROM A FORMER MILITARY PERSON / OPEN LETTER TO BARBARA 'BABS' BOXER, THE ARROGANT SENATOR FROM CALIFORNIA'

I Don't know if you saw the TV news clip last week about Senator Barbara Boxer admonishing a Brigadier General because he addressed her as "Ma'am" and not "Senator" before a Senate hearing.



Anyway, this is a letter from a National Guard Aviator and Captain for Alaska Air Lines on that subject. I know that some of you don't like this kind of politician bashing but you must be aware of how comments such as Senator Boxer's insults the entire military community.

Here is my final draft to Barbara Boxer. I want the world to know at least one powerful politician who masquerades as a wise solon and a congress in whose hand $trillions are spent without even reading the bills.

Senator Boxer,

You were so right when you scolded the general on TV for using the term, "ma'am," instead of "Senator." After all, in the military, "ma'am" is a term of respect when addressing a female of superior rank or position. The general was totally wrong. You are not a person of superior rank or position. You are a simply a member of the U.S. Senate elected from the state of California.

I view Congress as a collection of corrupted politicians who will do almost anything, once elected, to enhance their lives, fortunes and power, in order to be continually re-elected. How many of you could honestly say, "We pledge our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor" as the originators of the Declaration of Independence did? None? One? Two?

Your reaction to the general shows several things. First is your abysmal ignorance of all things military. Your treatment of the general shows you to be an elitist of the worst kind. When the general entered the military (as most of us who served) he wrote the government a blank check, offering his life to protect your life and your right to liberty and happiness.


You repaid him for this by humiliating him in front of millions. Second is your puerile character, lack of sophistication, and arrogance which borders on the hubristic. This display of brutish behavior shows you to be unfit for your position representing the state of California. What I am writing, Senator, are the same thoughts countless millions of Americans have toward Congress, but who lack the energy, ability or time to convey them.

Lord Acton (1834 - 1902) so aptly charged, "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely." Unbeknownst to you and your colleagues, Mr. Power has had his way with all of you, and we are all the worse for it.

Finally Senator, I, too, have a title. It is "Right Wing Extremist - Potential Terrorist Threat." It is not of my choosing, but was given to me by your Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano. And you were offended by "ma'am"? Have a day.

Agents for Mexico soon could be roaming the roads of several southern states – along with representatives of Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom – under a Federal Emergency Management Agency exercise that is going to focus "exclusively on terrorism prevention and protection."


The event is called National Level Exercise 2009 and is part of an annual series of exercises formerly called TOPOFF, for Top Officials, under the National Exercise Program that "serves as the nation's overarching exercise program for planning, organizing, conducting and evaluating national level exercises."


The idea has some bloggers stunned.


"Imagine, armed Mexican troops protecting us from 'terrorism' in the United States! Don't you feel safer already? ¿Dónde están sus documentos?" wrote an alarmed blogger at TargetFreedom.


"Rumors of foreign troops on our soil have been circulated for a long time. BUT this is not a rumor. It is a blatant fact as stated by FEMA on their government website. THIS IS AN INVASION," the blogger wrote.


Proclaim your beliefs loudly. Get your "Legalize the Constitution" bumper sticker!


Not quite, the government said. In an announcement on the FEMA website, officials described it as a "White House directed, congressionally-mandated exercise that includes the participation of all appropriate federal department and agency senior officials, their deputies, staff and key operational elements."


Oh, yes, various "state, tribal, local, and private sector" interests will participate and "this year the United States welcomes the participation of Australia, Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom in NLE 09."


The government's announcement said the exercise will focus on "intelligence and information sharing among intelligence and law enforcement communities."


The scenario "will begin in the aftermath of a national terrorist event outside of the United States, and exercise play will center on preventing subsequent efforts by the terrorists to enter the United States and carry out additional attacks. This scenario enables participating senior officials to focus on issues related to preventing terrorist events domestically and protecting U.S. critical infrastructure."


The exercise will "allow terrorism prevention efforts to proceed to a logical end (successful or not), with no requirement for response or recovery activities," the government said.
FEMA Region VI, including the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Texas, will be the field of operations for the exercise starting July 27 to test intelligence collection and sharing, counterterrorism investigation, security, infrastructure protection and other facets.
During a previous similar exercise, WND reported that Gen. Victor E. Renuart, the commander of USNORTHCOM, confirmed he would deploy U.S. troops on American soil if the president declared a domestic emergency.


USNORTHCOM, which was established in 2002 with a responsibility for "homeland defense" of an area including U.S. Canada, Mexico and parts of the Caribbean, would be ready to come to the aid of law enforcement agencies or National Guard units if needed, officials confirmed.


When another terror drill, involving the detonation of a "nuclear" device, was conducted, media outlets funded by billionaire George Soros were warning it may be a "false flag" operation that would involve the detonation of a real bomb to set the stage for martial law.


The 2007 drill was in Portland, Ore., and brought together federal, state and local efforts.
At the time, Rep. Peter DeFazio, D-Ore., a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, suggested then, "Maybe the people who think there's a conspiracy out there are right."


But many have not yet forgotten that the same government running the exercise only weeks ago described ordinary protesters in the U.S. as "low-level" terror suspects.


The U.S. Department of Defense had included in a training course a question that defined protesters as terrorists.


According to the letter from the Northern California ACLU, the DoD's "Annual Level 1 Antiterrorism (AT) Awareness Training for 2009" tells department personnel "that certain First Amendment-protected activity may amount to 'low-level terrorism.'"


Specifically the training "Knowledge Check 1" asks, "Which of the following is an example of low-level terrorism activity?"
The multiple choices are: Attacking the Pentagon, IEDs, Hate crimes against racial groups and Protests.
The correct answer in the training course is "Protests."

The Pentagon later withdrew the question.


"They should have made it clearer," Pentagon spokesman Lt. Col. Les Melnyk told Fox. He declined to specify when the line would be crossed from one into the other.


But he said all of the 1,546 people who took the exam and saw the question will be notified of the "error" and told that there is a difference between lawful objections and violent unrest.


The whole episode developed just weeks after a scandal erupted over a Department of Homeland Security report that described as "right-wing extremists" those who oppose abortion and support secure national borders.


Richard Thompson, president of the Thomas More Law Center, said his organization sued over the DHS "extremism" report.
The DHS report was "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment." WND has posted the report online for readers to see.


The report linked returning veterans with the possibility of terrorism, and when it was released it created such a furor for Napolitano she has given several explanations for it, including that she would have reworded the report and that it was issued by a rogue employee.

She later apologized to veterans for having linked them to terror.


But Thompson noted that the report also targeted as "potential terrorists" Americans who:

• Oppose abortion
• Oppose same-sex marriage
• Oppose restrictions on firearms
• Oppose lax immigration laws
• Oppose the policies of President Obama regarding immigration, citizenship, and the expansion of social programs
• Oppose continuation of free trade agreements
• Are suspect of foreign regimes
• Fear Communist regimes
• Oppose a "one world" government
• Bemoan the decline of U.S. stature in the world
• Persons uupset with loss of U.S. manufacturing jobs to China and India, and more
• Persons upset with loss of U.S. manufacturing jobs to China and India, and more
• Thompson told WND no apology has been offered to the members of any of those classes of citizens.

Thompson said the original "extremism" report was "the tip of the iceberg. … Conservative Americans should be very outraged."

OMG! / 'SWISS BANK NOW CONTROLS THE FINANCIAL AFFAIRS OF PLANET EARTH'

A towering citadel housing what is essentially a sovereign state known as the Bank for International Settlements is located in Basel, Switzerland. The bank now controls the financial affairs of planet Earth.

If you think this is an exaggeration or the conspiratorial ramblings of the author . . . or not, I invite you to read on. I wrote the first installment of this article—“The Financial Crisis: A Look Behind the Wizard’s Curtain”—in mid-March of this year.The article included the following statement:

The purpose of this financial crisis is to take down the United States and the U.S. dollar as the stable datum of planetary finance and, in the midst of the resulting confusion, put in its place a Global Monetary Authority—a planetary financial control organization “to ensure this never happens again.”

This purpose has now been accomplished.

The dollar, the former king of currencies, now goes begging in the pant-suited persona of Hillary Clinton to our creditors at the Chinese Communist Party.
Almost unthinkable a few short years ago, the U.S. dollar is fast losing its status as the world reserve currency, and any thought of saving it is being nuked by the Larry, Moe and Curly of U.S. economic policy - Bernanke, Geithner and Summers - and their Alice in Wonderland trillion-dollar budget deficits.

I would not be surprised to see central banks start using the renminbi (the currency of the newly awakened People’s Republic of China—also called the yuan) for international trade and reserves in the not too distant future. This prediction will likely be scoffed at by global economists, but then they have about as much credibility as pharmaceutical salesmen these days.

A more generally discussed alternative is the International Monetary Fund’s SDR (which stands for Special Drawing Rights). There is no production or property behind the SDR. It is one of those clown currencies that are made up out of thin air—a magic trick central bankers like to do. Intoxicated by the power of the purse, they think of themselves as fiscal alchemists.

But the dollar has seen its glory. It can return one day, if Washington ever finds its financial backbone. But let’s be real, with the exception of a very few, like Ron Paul in the House and Tom Coburn in the Senate, these folks are addicted to spending like junkies on horse.
More importantly, the other shoe has dropped. Like some ghoulish predator from another Alien sequel, a Global Monetary Authority has been born. It lives. -

Three House Democratic leaders who were whipping members on the climate change bill gave tens of thousands in campaign cash to party moderates around the time of the 219-212 vote on June 26, according to Federal Election Commission records.

It's impossible to tell if that torrent of cash was an attempt to schmear wavering Democrats -- or just part of the usual cash dump made by leaders on the eve of the June 30 quarterly fundraising deadline.

Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-SC) doled out $28,000 to reps who eventually voted yes on June 24, two days before the big vote -- on a day when House leaders were doing some heavy-duty arm-twisting.

Clyburn recipients who voted for the bill included a who's-who of battleground district Dems: Steve Driehaus, D-OH ($2,000); Martin Heinrich, D-NM ($2,000); Suzanne Kosmas, D-Fla. ($4,000); Betsy Markey, D-Colo. ($2,000); Carol Shea-Porter, D-NH ($2,000), Baron Hill, D-Ind. ($2,000); Alan Grayson, D-Fla. ($2,000); Leonard Boswell, D-Iowa ($2,000); Jim Himes, D-Conn. ($2,000); Mary Jo Kilroy, D-OH ($2,000); Kurt Schrader, D-Ore. ($2,000); Jerry McNerney, D-Calif. ($2,000) and Tom Perriello, D-Va. ($2,000).
On the other hand, Clyburn also gave at least $14,000 to Democrats who voted no despite his pressure: Mike Arcuri, D-NY ($2,000); Marion Berry, D-Ark. ($2,000); Bobby Bright, D-Ala. ($2,000); Chris Carney, D-Penn. ($2,000); Chet Edwards (D-Tx.), Travis Childers , D-Miss. ($2,000); Parker Griffith, D-Ala. ($2,000) and Harry Mitchell, D-NM ($2,000).

The same pattern held true for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who gave $4,000 to yes-voting Ohio Democrat Zack Space and the same amount to no-voting Chris Carney.
House Energy and Commerce Henry Waxman gave at least $16,000 to yes-voters on June, 25, FEC records show.

A Waxman campaign spokesman said the payouts were part of the usual "end-of-quarter activity."

Ken Spain, communications director of the National Republican Congressional Committee emails this response:

“If this was a concerted effort by the Democratic leadership to purchase votes for Nancy Pelosi’s national energy tax at the eleventh hour, then it is unconscionable at best and corrupt at worst. The sad fact for those Democrats who were seemingly bought and paid for, is that it will take a lot more money than they received to defend such an atrocious vote.”
UPDATE: Democrats have responded, turning up their own list of vulnerable Republicans who received leadership money at the end of the reporting period. Not surprisingly, they're dismissive of Republican accusations that votes were bought.

UPDATE: REPUBLICANS ARE AMONG THE DIRTY DEALERS AS WELL. THIS CANNOT BE OVERLOOKED. CONGRESS IS CORRUPT. VOTE OUT ALL INCUMBENTS IN 2010!

"What House Republican leaders may be lacking in solutions for the American people, they more than make up for in hypocrisy and bogus charges," said DCCC spokesman Ryan Rudominer. "Considering the long list of contributions that Leader Boehner gave to his own rank and file right after their ‘just say no’ vote to creating jobs and reducing America’s dependence on foreign oil, their false accusations against Democrats are at best phony outrage and at worst, hypocrisy of the highest order.”

Boehner gave $2,000 each in late June to Reps. Brian Bilbray (R-Calif.); Chris Lee (R-N.Y.), Erik Paulsen (R-Minn.), Joseph Cao (R-La.), Judy Biggert (R-Ill.), Ken Calvert (R-Calif.), Dan Lungren (R-Calif.), and Thad McCotter (R-Mich.). All of these Republicans are among the most
vulnerable politically.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers Jr. has backed off his plan to investigate purported wrongdoing by the liberal activist group ACORN, saying ?powers that be? put the kibosh on the idea.

Mr. Conyers, Michigan Democrat, earlier bucked his party leaders by calling for hearings on accusations the Association of Community Organization for Reform Now (ACORN) has committed crimes ranging from voter fraud to a mob-style "protection" racket.

"The powers that be decided against it," Mr. Conyers told The Washington Times as he left the House chambers Wednesday.

The chairman declined to elaborate, shrugging off questions about who told him how to run his committee and give the Democrat-allied group a pass.
Conyers spokesman Jonathan Godfrey said late Thursday, several hours after the first request for comment, that the chairman had been referring to himself as "the powers that be."
Pittsburgh lawyer Heather Heidelbaugh, whose testimony about ACORN at a March 19 hearing on voting issues prompted Mr. Conyers to call for a probe, said she was perplexed by Mr. Conyers' explanation for his change of heart.

"If the chair of the Judiciary Committee cannot hold a hearing if he wants to, [then] who are the powers that he is beholden to?" she said. "Is it the leadership, is it the White House, is it contributors? Who is 'the power'?"

The comment spurred similar questions by House Republicans, who asked whether House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was involved in blocking the probe.

"Chairman Conyers has a responsibility to explain who is blocking this investigation, and why. Is it Speaker Pelosi? Others in the Democratic leadership? Who in Congress is covering up ACORN's corruption?" said Michael Steel, spokesman for House Minority Leader John A. Boehner, Ohio Republican.

Rep. F. James Sensenbrenner Jr. of Wisconsin, ranking Republican on the Judiciary subcommittee on the Constitution, civil rights and civil liberties, said the chairman should be calling the shots.

Troy Renault remembers the shocking statistic he heard earlier this year while watching the news. By the end of 2009, more than a million children will be homeless because of the recession, foreclosure crisis and skyrocketing unemployment rate."I was like how could that happen?

In this country, how can that happen," Renault pondered that fact while sitting at a picnic table on a hot Tennessee afternoon. "And little did I think that my children would be part of the statistic."He works in construction, helping build the suburban Nashville neighborhood that he, his wife Tammy and their four sons called home in until six weeks ago. When the housing industry collapsed, Troy was laid off and started his own handyman business. But even on his own, work was hard to find. The family struggled to make their bills."Do I keep the lights and water on so that we can at least get clean, wash clothes and do dishes? Or do we pay the rent and sit in the darkness?"

The lack of work finally caught up with the Renault family and they eventually lost their home. With nowhere to go, they packed their belongings and moved to Space 34 at the Timberline Campground in Lebanon, Tennessee. They now live in two tents, joined together to make up a tiny living room complete with a lamp and TV and three small rooms for the family of six to sleep. Their kitchen is a grill, stacks of plastic containers of food and a line of coolers just outside the tent. Running water, showers and toilets are a few steps away in a public restroom intended for campers to use on long weekends, vacations and holidays.But the Renaults are not alone.

Campgrounds all over the country are seeing an alarming number of people pulling up with tents, campers and RV's with nowhere else to go. What once was a symbol of American fun in the sun has now become an affordable refuge for those with no place to live."You want to start crying. You look at your young children and think what am I going to do here?"Despite having to rough it with four kids ages 2 to 17 years old, Tammy and Troy Renault try to focus on what they are lucky to have instead of what they lost."What's really important is loving one another, looking out for your neighbors, looking out for people. There's simple little things that you can do everyday to make a difference in someone's life."It's an attitude the Renault's live by at Timberline. They give away their own comfort items or lend a helping hand to those they feel are in more need. Even though they sweat out the hot days and humid nights in their tents, they refused to keep a donated air conditioner. Instead they gave it to Kathy Newton, a vietnam veteran who is battling cancer and lives in a tent just two spaces down from their makeshift home. Troy also gave a refrigerator to a couple at a neighboring campsite who couldn't afford to replace one that broke down and he recently helped an another woman by fixing the plumbing in her tiny camper, free of charge."I think it's the little things that we do for each other that make a big difference in the other persons life, and in return it comes back to you."Recent media coverage of their situation has brought in a flood of donated food, clothing and job offers. They see it as a blessing and hope to be in an apartment in a few weeks if the job offers pan out. But with the reality that there are so many more on the verge of being forced out of their homes and into campgrounds, the Renault's hope those who see their story will be thankful for all they have and never hesitate to help someone who's need might be more serious."Look in your own neighborhood. See who might have a need right there. Check to see that you don't have a neighbor that isn't going through some depression, having a hard time...on the verge of losing their job." PreviousNext
